Molokini Crater Tours from Wailea

Wailea is one of the most convenient locations for visiting Molokini Crater. Because Wailea is situated just south of Kihei, you are effectively "next door" to the crater. Visitors in Wailea have two primary options for their snorkeling excursion.

1. The Luxury Beach Departure

The most exclusive way to visit Molokini from Wailea is via a beach-launch departure. Kai Kanani operates directly from Maluaka Beach (located in front of the Makena Golf & Beach Club, just south of Wailea). This allows you to board the boat right from the sand, avoiding the drive to the harbor and providing a truly premium experience.

2. Departure from Kihei Boat Ramp

Just a 5-10 minute drive north of Wailea is the Kihei Boat Ramp. This hub offers a variety of high-speed rafts and specialized snorkel boats. This is the best option for Wailea guests who want a faster, more adventurous ride to Molokini and the "Back Wall."

The Turtle Town Combo

Nearly all tours departing from the Wailea/Kihei area include a second stop at Turtle Town. Because the coastline between Wailea and Makena is the primary habitat for the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, these tours offer the best chance to see both the vibrant fish of Molokini and the graceful turtles of Maui's south shore in a single trip.
